    Good morning,

Today, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Attorney Advisor, Chas Eberle, reached out to us to see if any ASBO members were aware of any schools, districts, consortia, or states that plan to apply for E-Rate special construction funding in FY2016. (For more information on E-Rate 2.0 and special construction rules/projects, visit the FCC's website.)

While the application window is months away, applicants who are seeking E-Rate construction funding should be in the process of organizing their requests for proposals (RFPs). Mr. Eberle is attempting to get a general sense of what projects are out there, who is applying for such funding, the scope of the projects, and examples of any interesting collaborations with local/country governments, libraries, and so forth.

If you know of any planned E-Rate-related construction projects in your district or state (e.g., building fiber networks, community broadband projects, etc.), please share them here.

Mr. Eberle may also want to follow up with you and gather more information on the project, so please indicate whether you would like him to contact you on this matter too.

    Thank you.
