Anthony Dragona, Ed.D., is a product of the Union City School District in Union City, NJ, and has 42nd year of service to the district. The school district demographics reveal a footprint of 1.4 sq. miles, home to 72,000 residents, 14,500 students and 15 schools, 94% of students English is their second language. Dragona has planned and opened 8 new schools valued over $400 million, additionally one school is currently under construction and one more is scheduled to break ground in 2018. An enhanced student nutrition programs, using the Community Eligibility Provision provides students three free meals daily.
In addition, Dragona has serverd as an adjunct professor of Educational Technology at New Jersey City University, where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees. He earned a Doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University. He served as President of the New Jersey Association of School Business Officials and the recipient of the 2009 ASBO Intl. Distinguished Eagle Award. In additon to School Business organizations, Dragona also has been a featured conference speaker for Filemaker, the Consortium for School Networking, Technology Education conference, and the New Jersey School Board Association. He has also written articles for a variety of publications including American School Board Journal, Key Post Magazine, and School Leader Magazine. Mr. Dragona currently resides in Glen Rock, NJ and has two sons, Anthony (25) and Alex (21).
