Today, the U.S. Department of Education shared with us a "Dear Colleague Letter", issued by Assistant Secretary for Career, Technical, and Adult Education Amy Loyd, that addresses how CTE/Perkins funds can be used to tackle nationwide teacher shortages.
The letter includes a fact sheet with information on allowable activities and strategies for how these federal funds can be used to improve the recruitment and preparation of future educators for CTE and other subjects. It also provides specific recommendations for states, community colleges, and school districts to help strengthen educator pipelines.
