Leadership Philosophy
As a leader in the field of education I believe it is paramount to ensure that students are successful. Student success is made possible by meeting the needs of schools and programs. A collaborative, solutions focused approach, ensures that services and resources are made available to the school district and in the best interest of all students. Through open communication, timely and accurate information, educators are empowered with the best possible information, people, tools and resources to provide learning opportunities to meet the needs of the 21st century learner.
Empowerment that develops the knowledge, skills and attributes of employees to reach their full potential not only creates a strong team, but builds organizational capacity. I believe a strong collaborative team will make decisions that provide the best learning opportunities for students. Knowledge is a powerful tool. Communication is crucial with all stakeholders to gain knowledge and to understand context. I believe in educating stakeholders and staffs about the “business” of education, which will enhance informed decision making, ensure resources are directed to where they have the greatest impact, and ultimately positively influence student learning.
The school district business operation is the foundation to support educators of the 21st century learner. I believe in providing a solid foundation of service and support that will build organizational capacity so that educational matters can rest at the centre of the organization, those who directly impact student learning. Continuous improvement of business and operational practices through relationship building and strong collaborative partnerships will open doors to innovative opportunities that create value for the school district and ultimately strengthen the foundation. In the end, this strong foundation of support will ensure that every student is successful.
