The Department of Education has created a web page with information related to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. The site, http://www.ed.gov/sandy, includes news and resources. ED also maintains a hotline (855-385-9985) and an e-mail address (EdSchoolInfo@ed.gov) for questions.
Additionally, the NEA Health Information Network (HIN) has activated its Disaster Relief Fund and is accepting both public donations and grant applications from local aid organizations. The goal of the fund is to provide educators, support professionals, students and schools with what is needed to recover from a disaster - whether school supplies or roof repairs.
