This month, Lifetime Television’s “The Balancing Act” will feature a special Parent Teacher Corner that focuses on student furniture and its effect on learning. ASBO International Executive Director John D. Musso will join Saul Wagner from Hertz Furniture to discuss the role comfort and ergonomics play in student learning.
“Many factors influence student achievement in the classroom—factors that go beyond instruction and assessment,” Musso says. “Furniture is one of those factors. It’s not enough that school furniture is attractive; it also must be comfortable, meet the ergonomic needs of the students and teachers, and support and extend rather than hinder instruction.”
Musso draws from his experiences as an educator and school business official. “School business officials manage the business side of education, and that includes ensuring every student has the best possible resources to promote success. That includes school furniture.”
The Balancing Act airs daily on Lifetime Television at 7:00 a.m. (EST). For more information, visit www.TheBalancingAct.com
