  • 1.  Trump Administration Considers Overtime Rule Changes

    The Department of Labor (DOL) announced there will be several public listening sessions on white collar exemption regulations regarding overtime pay rules under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) for exempting executive, administrative, professional, and other eligible employees. DOL is holding several sessions next month around the country to collect feedback as it considers potential revisions to overtime regulations:

    • September 7, 2018: Atlanta, GA
    • September 11, 2018: Seattle, WA
    • September 13, 2018: Kansas City, MO
    • September 14, 2018: Denver, CO
    • September 24, 2018: Providence, RI

    Here is a reminder that the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Wage and Hour Division will be hosting a public hearing in Washington, D.C., to gather views on the Part 541 white-collar exemption regulations, a.k.a the "Overtime Rule," on October 17, 2018, from 10 am--12 pm (Eastern Time).

    Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), these regulations implement exemptions from the overtime-pay requirements for executive, administrative, professional, and certain other employees. DOL wants to hear ideas about how to revise the regulations as it plans to updated them. There is no fee to attend the listening session; however, registration is required. To register, click here
