During the ASBO International and AASA 2023 Legislative Advocacy Conference, July 11-13, in Washington, D.C., SBOs and superintendents advocated on Capitol Hill for students, schools, and K-12 education. As part of their Hill Day, ASBO International and AASA collaborated with national education and nutrition organizations to urge Congress to extend school meal reimbursement rates authorized under the Keep Kids Fed Act (KKFA) to continue helping schools with feeding students healthy meals. Attached is a joint statement from organizations highlighting why this funding is so important, featuring commentary from ASBO International President John Hutchison, CPA, MBA, SFO.
