Bio

John Henry Ford was hired as Director of Financial Operations on March 8th 2010; he reports to the CFO and is responsible for leading the Finance Team in managing the financial and accounting policies, systems and day to day processes and making sure everyone is in compliance with the district policies and best business practices.

Mr. Ford comes to Metro Nashville Public Schools from Meharry Medical College where he served as Deputy Executive Director for the Meharry Medical Group. He possesses twenty years of financial leadership experience in a University, Medical Research and Academic Healthcare environment.

Mr. Ford is a 2001 graduate of the University of Central Arkansas at Conway with a Master of Business Administration degree, accounting concentration and a 1994 honor graduate of Philander Smith College (Little Rock, AR) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, accounting concentration.

He has maintained professional memberships in the following organizations: Association of Government Accountants (AGA), Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM), Association of School Business Official International (ASBO), Tennessee Association of School Business Officials (TASBO), Southeastern Association of School Business Officials (SASBO) and Association of Professionals in Business Management (APBM). John is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and the Prince Hall Masonic Fraternity.
