My name is Elleka Yost, and I am ASBO International's Director of Advocacy. I manage ASBO International’s legislative advocacy program and ad hoc research and communications projects. I work with our marketing and communications team to provide support with PR/media relations and curating content for ASBO publications, including School Business Leader.
I am a lifelong learner! At George Mason University, I studied political science, international affairs, public policy, business, economics, and Chinese language and culture. I also had the opportunity to study abroad for a year at Beijing Language and Culture University. Before coming to ASBO, I acquired experience in several fields, working in education, customer service, journalism, and international affairs.
While working for ASBO, I’ve developed a great appreciation and understanding of education policy. I realize more and more each day how the lack of education funding influences the broader socioeconomic problems facing our society today. But I’m deeply motivated to work with school business officials and other education leaders to solve these problems!
In my spare time, I enjoy reading the news and debating policy, connecting with my church, and playing video games to keep my mind sharp. Please reach out if you need anything. I am happy to help!
