ASBO International signed onto a letter last week with the Data Quality Campaign (DQC) and other ed-tech groups urging federal appropriators in the House and Senate to support the guidance and technical assistance provided by the Department of Education’s (ED) Privacy and Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) by increasing its funding by $1 million, per the Obama administration's FY2016 budget request. More PTAC funding will assist ED's efforts to prevent student data privacy issues before they arise as well as ensure ED provides more timely responses to parent and student privacy complaints.
