I lead the support staff at Bordesley Green Girls’ School in Birmingham, England. I am proud to be a trustee and Fellow of the UK National Association of School Business Management (NASBM) and chaired the SBM practitioner group which wrote the NASBM professional standards. I am the longest-serving trustee and the current link-trustee overseeing the development of an updated suite of qualifications for school business management professionals.
I have a growing private practice advising a number of leading education organisations on policy issues, as well as delivering training and campaigning for better management of school resources.
Prior to working in education, I worked at board level for a number of charities involved in the construction of schools, orphanages and clinics in sub-Saharan Africa. I continue to be involved in charities linked to education and am a non-executive director of the non-profit organisation Services 4 Education. S4E provides support and training for school leaders and runs over 34,000 music lessons a week in the UK's second city.
