PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP DETAILS FOR REGISTRATION

This year, we are pleased to offer two pre-conference workshops. These learning sessions will occur on Wednesday, October 18, before the Annual Conference & Expo. Join colleagues and experts to discuss important and timely topics in depth.

Pre-conference workshops have an additional fee and are not included in the main Annual Conference registration.

Title: Leadership Workshop – Using DiSC to Understand and Improve Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
Date: Wednesday, October 18, 2023
Time: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Description: For those familiar with the DiSC leadership personality assessment, you understand how DiSC can be used to develop better communication between individuals or a team. DiSC can also be used to develop and improve your emotional intelligence (EQ). Because DiSC gives us insight into our psychological needs, it helps us to understand how and WHY someone reacts and behaves in different situations. Join us at this workshop to learn more about how DiSC and EQ are related and how to use this in your daily team interactions.

Title: Introduction to Grant Funding for the SBO
Date: Wednesday, October 18, 2023
Time: 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Description: One commonality among most districts is the shortage of funding for critical programs and services. Many districts are unaware of how grant funding can help fill these gaps. In this four-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to locate grant funds, identify potential funding options, determine eligibility, common pitfalls, best practices for writing a grant application, and more. The facilitator will also provide insight into tracking funds after they’ve been awarded, how to ensure your district is in compliance, and how you can stay ahead of deadlines that lead up to the final stages of the grant, including how to prepare for the Single Act audit.
