Creating an effective partnership between the affiliate board of directors and executive director is critical for the success of the organization. Together, participants will explore the skills, capabilities, and best practices that create the trust, rigor, and culture required to lead effectively. Being an effective leader is not about your title it’s about your ability to influence outcomes and inspire others. Through engaging exercises, discussions, and the sharing of practical principles, this session explores the foundation of an effective leadership style.

  • Describe four confidence-building strategies and ways to practice being a confident leader. 

  • Describe the components of the storytelling framework that enables clear, compelling, and concise communication to any stakeholder group. 

  • Role-play confident communication with stakeholders through compelling storytelling.

Self-awareness is the accelerant to growth as a leader. The session will provide participants with detailed insight into their leadership style. Each leader will receive a personalized DiSC profile to explore the priorities driving their behavior. Dynamic exercises and learnings will allow the leaders to discover their natural style preferences, explore challenges to leading well, and discover actionable best practices that will strengthen interpersonal interactions.

  • Examine creative thinking skills used to resolve everyday issues.
